Navigating Change with the Medicine of Relational Intelligence

 OFFERING NAVIGATION THROUGH:

Trauma:

I help people who are living with the impacts of trauma - experiences that have overwhelmed their ability to cope, left them feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them or the people they love. When my clients start therapy with me they often feel uncertain about what they want out of life. When they end therapy with me they feel more clear about their needs, desires and how to get both met.

Loving Someone in Crisis:

When my family member clients start counseling with me they are suffering in the unknowns of their loved one’s moment of crisis - whether that be harms from substance use, or navigating health systems that discriminate against people with acute emotional responses to life. The loved one’s I work with are in pain about their loved one’s crisis and unsure how to help. They have often internalized negative labels about their love, like enabler or codependent. Family member clients learn to use the strengths inherent in their love to help their loved one get treatment and or improve the quality of their lives and relationships.

Cultivating Relational Intelligence:

Whether you are struggling with the impacts of trauma or love someone who is, together, we can co-create a future that centers your assets and strengths as a person to build a future that honors your desires and values. In order to do this, my clients learn the skills of relational intelligence - systems of care for self and others that protect good enough connection. Connection is the root of our resilience and what helps us increase our confidence and practice of interdependence.

To connect more intimately to who you are and what you want out of your life is a radical step. Choosing to invest in yourself, your family, and your community needs and recover an authentic and valued approach to life requires hard work and commitment. I am grateful and honored to be considered a participant in this work.

Training & Collective Care Events

As a third generation educator who group up in the pre-school classrooms of my mother and grandmother, teaching is my gift to earth. I am most myself facilitating a group towards learning, skills building and holding space to foster collective care and action. I am available for training in the following areas: building the relational intelligence of your team or organization, Motivational Interviewing skill building for direct service organizations that navigate the complexity of systems and human need, going from the process to practice of trauma informed care, OR any other training or community building event we could dream up together. I will bring my event planning, production and deejay skills to the table.

Consultation

I offer clinical supervision in WA State for mental health clinicians in training and consultation internationally for those seeking to deepen their knowledge and practice of anti-colonial and liberation based psychologies.

Get Started

To Recover: To find or obtain something lost or stolen.

Recovery:

The story of how we experience our lives and relationships is generational. Our patterns of behavior are connected to the generations that came before us and those who will come after. Sometimes these stories are painful and interrupt our ability to feel fully connected to ourselves and others.

The work of therapy is to recover the unique strengths inherent in you and your relationships. How I have experienced therapy and being a therapist: therapy is a process of recovery; of getting found.
